Where to begin?

I am beginning this blog to recount the stories of my new puppy Kuma. You should read this if you are even thinking about a pet. To get you caught up I'll have to back track but it should be exciting non-the-less. Hang in there and let's get started.

It all started with the idea of getting the ultimate dog. By ultimate I mean a dog that not only comes when called, but is well trained and mine. After days and days of pleading and begging, I was able to convince my wife (Not really an animal person) to allow me to get a puppy.

We started by researching breeds and after finding all of the things we loved in one dog, we decided that a Newfoundland or "Newfie" was perfect. This breed fit our lifestyle by being calm, well-behaved, and having a great tempermant around children and other people. There of course are downsides as with any breed but I somehow made them sound insignificant when informing my better half.

After this decision we located a breeder and a puppy. We went to check him out and next thing you know were shelling out a hefty ransom for the little guy.
